HUCKLEBERRY * ALMOND * ROSE PETAL
With each vintage, our understanding of the Estate’s terroir evolves – we learn the nuances of different blocks, clones and farming practices, and how these maturing vines are settling into their distinct character. The inaugural bottling of the Sonoma Valley Pinot Noir is a testament to this educational journey.
These blocks are situated on the lower slopes, nestled at the entrance to the Scribe Estate. The soil here among the stone walls is deeper and richer in organic matter – cooler, and more forgiving than our hillside blocks. You can taste this gentler terroir in the wine – softer and more fruit-driven, with satisfying density and easy-going richness alongside the characteristic volcanic energy and vibrancy for which SCRIBE is known.
