WINTER SAVORY * CASSIS * PEPPERCORN
Planted at 1,800 feet of elevation on the eastern slopes of the Vaca Mountain Range in northern Napa, the Rancho Catacula vineyard has a wild spirit and an iconic history. This site was originally part of the 8,500 acre Mexican land grant given to Joseph Ballinger Chiles in 1844, which he proceeded to call Rancho Catacula. The vineyard is now owned by the Heminway family, who we’ve long-admired for their foundational roles in developing California’s food and wine culture.
This bottling is Napa sunlight captured – marrying the raw and radiant energy of this iron-rich site, with the savory depth and structure of a classic Syrah.
