Scribe's organically farmed Estate vineyard on the southwest-facing slope of Arrowhead Mountain. Clones 667, Martini, Pommard and Wadenswill are planted on St. George rootstock in volcantic tuff and the local Huichica Loam soil. The wine underwent an extended cold fermentation in Stainless steel and concrete tanks followed by 6 months of aging in a combonation of concrete and neutral French oak barrels.
2016 meteorological data: Sonoma’s third consecutive warm winter prompted an early start to the growing season. March frosts slightly thinned what would become a warm, healthy vintage. As harvest started early in August, the weather cooled and fruit quality soared, prompting a balanced and beautiful vintage.
